Johnny Silva

I've had no formal training, but I can remember as a child watching my grandfather carve faces and designs into whatever wood project he was working on at the time. I recall studying my father's work shaping his bonsai trees. Both my father and grandfather were stone masons by trade and I carried on the tradition.

As a competitive body builder, actor and author of an unpublished book., I have been dabbling in different arts for a long time.  

Though I've just picked up a brush this past year, I've been pursuing art through my stone work for the past 25 years. Stonework seems narrow in scope compared to the freedom that can be achieved with a brush and some paint. I believe I will be holding a brush quite some time to come as it brings me joy!
